Paint Artist

As a Senior Paint Artist at Prasad Corp Pvt Ltd, you will be responsible for working with live-action footage, high-resolution scans of traditional art, digital still photography, rendered CG elements and digital paint to create highly believable and stylized environments. You will help integrate these elements seamlessly into films, commercials, and TV series while working collaboratively with other VFX artists to ensure the highest quality output.

Responsibilities

• Create Believable Environments: Work with live-action footage, high-resolution scans, digital stills, CG elements, and digital paint to generate seamless environments that enhance the narrative.
• Artistic Vision and Creative Thinking: Develop clean plates, ensuring that all painted elements blend naturally into the shot while preserving the artistic integrity of the scene.
• Digital Painting Techniques: Apply your extensive knowledge of various digital painting techniques, including 2D backdrops, textured fixes, and complex 2.5D/3D projections.
• Rotoscoping and Tracking: An additional advantage is knowledge of Rotoscoping and 2D/3D Tracking, enabling seamless integration of elements with moving objects or camera movement.
• Plate Preparation: Dust-bust and remove scratches, prepare plates for compositing and ensure clean, high-quality assets for final integration.
• Green/Blue Screen Compositing: Undertake basic compositing tasks such as green and blue screen work to assist in scene integration.
• Quality Assurance: Assist in quality checking by reviewing peers' work to maintain high standards of output across the team.
  
  

Requirements

• 5 to 6 years of experience as a Paint Artist in the VFX industry, working on high-profile international projects.
• Proven experience in painting techniques for VFX, including cleanup, object removal, texture fixes, and environment extensions.
• Proficient in digital painting tools such as Photoshop, Nuke, Mari, or similar software.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D compositing, Rotoscoping, and Tracking (2D and 3D) is a plus.
• Ability to perform basic compositing tasks and work effectively with compositors on integrating painted elements.
• Strong understanding of VFX workflows and how painted elements fit into the larger production pipeline.
• A Degree in Fine Arts, Animation, VFX, or a related field (BFA/MFA) with a certificate course in VFX or related subjects.

• Experience with 3D integration and match-moving techniques.
• Exposure to stereoscopic 3D workflows or multi-dimensional VFX tasks.
