Product Designer II

About the Role: *

Flipkart OneDesign is seeking an experienced, creative, versatile and customer-obsessed product designer to join us. This role requires you to work closely with multiple stakeholders and lead conceptualisation and realization of best-in-class user experiences for Indian e-commerce.

For this role, we are looking for an experienced designer who can balance product thinking with user empathy, think through complex problems, has good interaction design skills all the while remembering that great products also look great. The job requires you to completely understand Indian consumers and their online behavior and create new or modify existing Flipkart experience to suit their needs.

As a Design team, we work on products that empower our users to push the boundaries of customer’s shopping experience. Informed by research and data, we solve complex needs and build iteratively toward our vision. We ship high-fidelity designs of new features and prototype solutions. We own these projects from start to finish and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of developers, product managers, content strategists, and researchers to deliver the best possible experience

You are Responsible for: *

• Advocating for good user experience across our platform by representing our users in design brainstorming discussions.
• Speaking to the Users, Business and PMs to understand pain points and opportunities.
• Delivering on the initiatives as per plan, while providing inputs to influence the larger problems we should be solving.
• Influencing the PMs and UI Engineering team to continuously make improvements to the product experience.
• Identifying the appropriate UX methods and tools to use depending on project constraints.
• Prototyping solutions to solve complex problems.
• Contributing to our growing design system of patterns in an effort to cultivate a cohesive look, feel, and user experience across the entire Flipkart platform.
• Sharing and reviewing your designs based on peer feedback, research, and testing.
  
  

To succeed in this role – you should have the following: *

• A deep demonstrable understanding of the end-to-end iterative UX process, including personas, scenarios, wire-framing, content modeling, prototyping, user research, and design systems.
• Problem solving mindset, along with empathy and advocacy for users, in all areas of work.
• Curiosity - Question what’s told, think from first principles, be open to healthy debate and change.
• Practical experience with user research, solid interaction design skills and a good visual sense. Great at one or more of these.
• Self starter - You identify problems, think through, solve and then inform.
• Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders from across teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Extraordinary UI design abilities that can be demonstrated through current projects.
• Good to have:
• Bachelor/Masters in Design, HCI, Psychology or any other related field.
• 2 - 4 yrs of experience in product design
• Relevant fundamental knowledge of front-end technologies to understand the constraints of the design.
