Team Overview

Join our Product Development team in Chandigarh, where we’re dedicated to building and maintaining powerful features for EquiLend Spire, our flagship platform supporting global securities finance. This team plays a critical role in translating client requirements into scalable software that directly impacts the securities finance landscape.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will work on the full software lifecycle, contributing to new feature development, system enhancement, and long-term architectural evolution. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across engineering, product, and client engagement teams to help deliver world-class technology tailored to client needs.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimise scalable, high-performance software applications for EquiLend Spire using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Translate client requirements into technical specifications in close collaboration with product managers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to ensure smooth interoperability across platforms.
  • Apply software engineering best practices including automated testing, peer reviews, and CI/CD processes.
  • Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues in live systems with minimal downtime.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and actively contribute to team-wide knowledge sharing.
  • Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies to improve feature delivery and system architecture.
  • Serve as a technical expert on Spire’s architecture, contributing to major design and implementation decisions.
  • Ensure all development meets company standards for security, compliance, and maintainability.
  • Work cross-functionally with QA, DevOps, and support teams to ensure successful releases.


Required Skills

  • 4+ years of professional experience in Java development, especially using Spring Boot in distributed systems.
  • Proven experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including OOP, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Proficiency with Maven or Gradle, and testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React.
  • Experience working with relational databases and ORM tools such as Hibernate.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Git, and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a collaborative team setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Role Location and Benefits

This role is based in Chandigarh with a flexible hybrid working model.
