Thomson Reuters is seeking a Data Analyst, Product Analytics to support our Customer Success programs. This analyst is responsible for developing and applying a data-driven understanding of how customers use TR products, with a specific focus on helping customers maximize the value they receive. The analyst will need to learn how TR products create value for our customers, set up our analytics solutions to measure product usage, then collaborate with customer-facing teams to conduct analysis, identifying opportunities for our customers to adopt and engage with our products.

This role is part of TR’s Product Analytics Excellence (PAE) team, which is part of the broader Product Analytics team, a group of 30+ Analysts using data to influence Thomson Reuters product decisions, with a strong culture of learning and collaboration. PAE specializes in analytics projects spanning multiple product areas, such as the project mentioned above, or implementing machine learning based usage forecasting to inform decisions around product enhancements or support.

About the Role :

As a Data Analyst, Product Analytics, you will:

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with stakeholders across product and customer facing teams to learn TR’s products and create measurement plans that ensure the right metrics, journeys, and events are captured in-product.
  • Analytics Implementation and Quality: Setup analytics events through Pendo or by working with product teams and developers. Take ownership of data collection, ensuring captured data accurately reflects product usage and customer goals.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Help customer facing teams understand product data and conduct analysis to recognize patterns and trends, understand user behavior, and identify opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Improve data collection and analysis based on the success of previously identified opportunities.
  • BI/Reporting: Partner with BI teams and other analysts to build dashboards and reports, including baselines and trends for page performance, feature usage, and customer segments


About you :

  • 3+ years of hands-on analytics experience that includes some experience planning analytics measurement, working with stakeholders, and influencing specific decisions, OKRs or metrics.
  • 2+ years of experience with dashboarding techniques to make complex data more understandable and insightful using tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
  • 2+ years of experience using SQL, Snowflake or Alteryx; building and documenting queries for consistent team use.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly with delivery teams (e.g. product, marketing, sales), with demonstratable experience developing a deep understanding of their work and taking actions based on their goals
  • 1+ years’ experience with product analytics tools such as Pendo, Amplitude, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Gainsight
  • 1+ years of experience using statistical packages within Python/R to analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Exposure to Machine Learning tools like Amazon SageMaker Canvas, Jupyter notebook is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, including experience in supporting and communicating data-driven analysis to various stakeholders
  • Building and maintaining support processes. Jira, MS Azure Dev Ops and MS SharePoint experience is an asset.
  • Tax, Accounting, or Legal subscription products experience is an asset.
