Technical Marketing Specialist - Crop Protection

As our Crop business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Technical Marketing Specialist to join our organisation to drive marketing activities, bring out insights and work closely with R&D and Sales teams and to bring agility to respond to market needs.

Reporting into the General Manager Sales & Marketing of our Life Sciences business, you will lead the marketing activities for the South Asia market, bring out insights, identify new markets & products opportunities, manage interface between R&D and Sales.

Degree qualified in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with a Masters in Sales or Marketing

Extensive experience in marketing and gathering insights for the Crop Protection Industry

Knowledge of the Agricultural formulation products and applications, including technical ability to discuss and recommend solutions to problems; or the ability to demonstrate the intellectual skill and motivation in order to learn the above knowledge within 6 months.

Ability to collaborate with various internal functions

Good planning and organisational skills, ideally demonstrated through previous project management experience.

Ability for creative thinking within market and technical environments

Ability to influence a range of stakeholders to meet common goals within set timeframes

What You’ll Be Doing

Contributing to development and implementation of the business strategy. To collate and analyse industry data, including competitor, customer and consumer market trends in order to identify and present new market opportunities

In conjunction with the Sales team and broader marketing organisation, manage the creation and execution of the marketing plan including communications, digital activity and promotional media/designs across target markets. 1-3 years timeframe ensuring marketing priorities within the plan are aligned with unmet needs to ensure business impact.

Analysing and understanding data to challenge and develop future marketing plans

Managing and tracking progress of new product development initiatives in collaboration with technical team. Drive commercial launch plans to support NPD.

Presenting to customers according to the global development plans, gain feedback to enrich marketing plans

Planning, creating and implementing marketing & communication initiatives at customers. Work closely with Sales to develop and broaden relationships with selected key accounts

Defining, jointly with the relevant others, offerings to the market by translating market needs into innovative ideas. Creativity is required to develop solutions which will be differentiated in the marketplace.

Leading organisation of internal sales and marketing conferences and training events to support on-going sales training and development needs and communicate marketing activities across the business network.

Attend relevant industry conferences to maintain knowledge base, acquire customer/competitor information & general market feedback.

Support the sales team with customer visits involving technical and marketing presentations, in order to clearly communicate and promote trends/value propositions and innovation.
