Responsibilities

A Social Media Manager is responsible for overseeing an organization's interactions with the public through social media platforms using a unified voice. Their duties typically include developing and implementing social media strategies, creating content, managing posts, and analyzing engagement. Here’s a detailed list of their key responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development
  • Creating Social Media Strategies: Develop comprehensive social media strategies that align with the company’s marketing goals and overall business objectives.
  • Setting Goals and Objectives: Establish goals, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for campaigns and overall social media performance.
  • Identifying Target Audiences: Define and understand the target audience to tailor content and campaigns effectively.
  • Content Creation and Curation
  • Content Planning: Plan and schedule content across various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
  • Content Creation: Create engaging text, image, and video content tailored to each platform.
  • Collaborating with Creatives: Work with graphic designers, videographers, and other content creators to produce high-quality content.
  • Community Management
  • Engaging with Followers: Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely manner.
  • Fostering Community Engagement: Encourage community engagement and interaction through posts, stories, and other content formats.
  • Handling Customer Service Issues: Address customer service issues and escalate as necessary.

  • Tracking Performance: Monitor and analyze social media performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
