Manager - Quality Control

Job Responsibility:

  • Review inspection (final or/and in process) for final products (e.g. aircraft) or components (e.g. fairing) or sub-assembly operation (e.g. panel) as instructed in the work plans and the pertinent engineering data.
  • Prepare Quality plans and schedules for the final product Inspection. Ensure that assembled parts meet required standards and approve work done by production personnel.
  • Ensures that aircraft fully conforms to its definition and is in a condition for safe operations during the Aircraft production cycle.
  • Collect, review and file documentation relevant to support the build of aircraft.
  • Ensure that the product meets customer and Aerospace standards.
  • Work towards getting the global Quality management systems & certifications like AS 9100 and ensure that these standards are followed in the organization
  • Allocate & supervise work of the quality inspectors and provide instructions when necessary to improve performance.


Strategic:

  • Verifies aircraft conformity through conformity reviews in compliance with applicable quality system and regulation and releases A/C associated documentation.
  • Establish, verify and present the Aircraft Inspection Report, on time and on quality, at milestones of aircraft build.
  • Plan for quality management systems implementation as per Company Procedures
  • Identify risks associated with product quality and mitigate them.
  • Establish, analyze and validate CAIR under responsibility of Final Assembly Line (FAL), Plant or Supplier as assigned.


Execution/ Implementation:

  • Responsible to collect, review and sign aircraft documentation to ensure the "As-Built" status is in line with and finally equal to the "Target Configuration". This documentation enables the issuance of the applicable aircraft release and conformity forms. This documentation includes (but is not limited to) Constituent Assembly Inspection Reports (CAIR), Aircraft Inspection Reports (AIR), Technical Logbook (TLB), Quality Logbook (QLB)
  • Check the conformity status of all Constituent Assemblies (CA) integrated in the aircraft
  • Ensure that product is free from Non-Conformances, omissions, incomplete works before delivery to customer. Ensure that defect trends are identified, minimized, eliminated and take action to this purpose.
  • Monitor receiving inspection of parts and semi-finished products received from suppliers
  • Ensure timely ‘Clearing’ and ‘offering’ to Customer the final product and as required by the contract.
  • Critical Review- Analysis of ICD report; Analysis of Customer Complaints and its preventive action; FAI documents (based on new modifications introduced in the cabin; approx. 3-4/month)
  • Approval- Issuing/allotment of stamp and maintain all QMS documents, SAP PR approval
  • Audit Compliance- Ensure adherence to AS9100 through interaction with all the departmental heads, conducting internal audit (Process & Product audit -twice a year) and review on the status of open NC's
