Position Summary

Mechanical Engineer contributes to Product Design/Development from conceptual design, Detail Design, verification/validation through engineering analysis and calculations, Manufacturing to testing and certification, while working under limited supervision.

Functions

Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

Needs to perform following activities under supervision.

  • Study inputs available (FDS, drawings, CAD models, technical documents) for a product / design
  • Create conceptual design, Detail Design, Design Calculations, Manufacturing Drawings, Bill of Materials and Product related technical documents by evaluating Customer Inquiries and Specifications
  • Establish Project/Deliverable approach and schedule.
  • Verify compliance to strength & functional requirements of designs through Engineering analysis & calculations
  • Interpret & use industry codes & standards relevant to product being designed
  • Refine and Improve Product Designs by Evaluating/Validating current Designs and Developing new Solutions.
  • Perform Tolerance Stack-up Analysis of Simple Problems
  • Prepare/Perform Engineering calculations templates & processes
  • Prepare technical documentation required as part of engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare design verification reports
  • Handle the Technical Changes and Updates in PLM/PDM systems
  • Understand and comply to established Engineering processes
  • Communicate regular progress updates to customer
  • Ascertain Engineering deliveries with required quality, within schedule
  • Resolve technical queries raised by customers or third-party reviewers, assist design approval process
  • Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals

NON-ESSENTIAL

  • Work towards individual goals aligned with department and organizational objectives
  • Comply to organizational HR policies and procedures
  • Understand and adhere to organizational HSE policies and practices
  • This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities

Safety

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Other

  • Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
  • Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
  • Eliminate waste of whatever form, suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has/does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship

Will report to Manager – Engineering

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Graduation (Bachelor’s Degree) in Mechanical Engineering.

DESIRED

  • Familiarity with Common CAE, CAD tools & PLM/PDM Software
  • Basic Knowledge of Calculation Software
  • Familiarity with Mechanical industry codes/standards (e.g.; ASME, DNV, API, AISC etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
