What you’ll do at Ather:

  • To work with suppliers to integrate the brake system into Ather’s product.
  • To create drawings as per standards and ensure TC release.
  • To support all aspects of product development and build.
  • Be Single Point of Contact for all internal and external communication.
  • Evaluate brakes from vendors from a technical standpoint
  • Write detailed requirements for the brake system
  • Generate concepts and options based on vendor inputs
  • To develop innovative test plans that accurately reflect use cases
  • Liaise with suppliers to meet internal release and testing milestones
  • Define End of Line requirements for the vendor
  • Own all interfaces internally and perform Interaction FMEAs
  • Adhere to Design Maturity Model
  • Draft and execute DVP for brake system
  • Coordinate testing to ensure validation timelines are met
  • Use root cause analysis methods such as Pareto chart, Ishikawa, 5 why, FMEA to identify the source of problems. Bug solving as per Field > Assembly > Material as the general priority.
  • Come up with reliable, cost-effective and solutions within tight constraints in a production environment.

Here’s what we are looking for:

  • Deep understanding of drum braking systems with CBS for two wheelers
  • Appreciation of Vehicle Dynamics testing
  • Brake system component sizing and selection
  • DFx of various components of a brake system
  • Awareness of relevant quality and homologation standards

You bring to Ather:

  • B.Tech/B.E/M.tech/M.E. or equivalent with specialisation in Mechanical/Machine design/Vehicle dynamics
  • 6-9 years of relevant experience working in brake system selection/design and vehicle dynamics
