Job Purpose

To develop an ethical culture and identify ethical lapses in the organization to reduce wastage and identify revenue leakages in GMR projects in the northern region.

Overall Supervision in ensuring building of ethics culture in GAIL, GMR group by

  • Collection of intelligence on misconduct, revenue leakage and reputational loss.
  • Enquires/Investigation on wrong doings of employees, vendors etc. in instances / concerns raised Suo Moto, with Management support, Red flags raised by MAG, Data Analysis and Whistleblower channel.
  • Identifying process gaps, raising System Improvement Notes, and ensuring appropriate remedial corrective actions / countermeasures
  • Enhancing ethics awareness amongst employees, vendors etc. through diverse channels, viz. personal interaction / trainings / workshops / publicity.
  • Seeking support / concurrence of Top management in driving ethical issues

Key Accountabilities

  • FOR DIAL, GHIAL, GGIAL GVIAL and all other new Airports/ projects, which come under GAIL of the GMR Group.
  • Planning & Coordinating - Intelligence & Investigation functions
  • Assessing & Evaluating of evidence
  • Report compilation & presentation.
  • Follow up with Management on implementation of E&I findings & recommendations.
  • Escalation before higher forum in cases where action taken does not appear proportionate to the misconduct / violations established
  • System Improvements: Identify process gaps and loopholes post investigations or otherwise and suggest appropriate System improvements & ensure implementation
  • Getting support of Top management in driving ethical issues and coordinating meetings of Ethics Councils for GAIL.
  • Coordinate FRA (Fraud Risk Assessments) & Data analytics conducted in risk prone areas and ensure mitigation of identified Risks
  • Role specific capability building for self and team.
  • Succession Planning: Assisting the Group Head & Management in identifying suitable professionals for induction in E&I dept.
  • Maintain close supervision over the work and conduct of the team.
  • Encourage & motivate the team to effectively carry forward the mandate of E&I


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Additional Details

  • Build Ethical Culture and protect Brand Image


Establish cross linkages with IT, MAG, HR and Legal Departments for effective protection of Brand Image. (Number of Quarterly meetings held)

Rolling out Job Rotation in GAIL (where applicable) with the support of CHR & BHR.

  • MISCELLANEOUS TASKS: Assist management in framing & carrying forward appropriate policies relevant from E&I perspective


EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Need to interact with outside the organization to enable success in your day -to-day work

Human intelligence: Collection & verification of intelligence Interacting with various Enforcement agencies (police, etc.) for cooperation in certain investigations.

Using external consultants for investigations wherever required.

Collect best practices from industry leaders in ethics in conferences, personal meeting, and discussions with major investigation players in the market.

Coordination with other Stakeholders and Public/ Government Authorities

Human intelligence: Collection of intelligence from employees/HODs & verification & validation of data/information.

Educate people in the organization and among vendor about ethics

Interact with depts. To develop systems to identify areas where risk is possible and develop preventive measures proactively to avert the problems

Education Qualifications

  • Graduate/Postgraduate/BCOM/MCOM/CA/MBA
  • Preferably ACFE
  • Strong knowledge in infrastructure industry, relevant experience, and domain expertise in workplace Investigations & Fraud Risk Management (Detection & Prevention)
  • Personality traits of good workplace/professional communication, inquisitiveness, intelligence, tenacity & good organizing skills .
  • Exposure to internal and external audits.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.


Relevant Experience

  • Relevant work experience with minimum 15-20 years across functional/business/sectoral in the desirable domain coming under GAIL business of GMR Group across India.
  • Supervising and managing independent corporate fraud investigation, auditing/financial accounting, reputational, and fraud control measures.
  • Experience and expertise of having worked with Senior Management/Corporate Governance Team/Management Assurance Group.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of various relevant statutory and regulatory laws.
  • Knowledge of High Impact Audit Areas, Accounting Standards, Risk Management & Control
