Primary Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Collaborate with Business Unit (BU) Managers to understand manpower requirements and support end-to-end hiring processes.
  • Manage pre-onboarding activities including HR discussions, compensation finalization, offer rollout, and employment contracts.
  • Handle onboarding formalities such as employee orientation, statutory benefit enrolments, and insurance coverage.
  • Coordinate with IT and Finance teams for new cost center creation.
  • Identify and engage recruitment agencies to support hiring needs.
  • Contract Manpower Management
  • Assist in identifying and onboarding vendors for contract/contingent manpower.
  • Support the drafting and finalization of contracts with manpower vendors.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for contract workers.
  • Act as a point of coordination with vendors for all contract manpower-related matters.
  • Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Labour Laws and the Factories Act.
  • Handle filing of quarterly, half-yearly, and annual statutory returns.
  • Work with BUs and Finance to establish or refine processes ensuring vendor compliance.
  • Engage with vendors to bridge any compliance gaps, protecting NOV from principal employer liabilities.
  • Expat Management
  • Coordinate with Fragomen for processing of visa applications.
  • Ensure compliance with India immigration regulations including FRRO formalities.
  • Manage documentation and maintain records for future government audits.
  • Ensure expats’ PF and income tax compliance in coordination with Finance & Accounts.
  • Payroll Support
  • Coordinate with operations for timely submission of overtime and allowance data.
  • Support smooth payroll processing in collaboration with payroll teams.
  • Oversee leave management processes.
  • Employee Benefits & Perquisites
  • Manage and monitor the implementation of the company’s leased car policy.
  • Ensure compliance with policy guidelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors and employees to resolve any benefit-related issues.
  • Grievance Management
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee grievances.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and management to address and resolve concerns.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Plan and execute CSR initiatives aligned with legal requirements and approved budgets.
  • Draft MoUs and coordinate with NGO partners for program implementation.
  • Maintain cost MIS, documentation, and audit trails for CSR reporting and Board reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree/Post Graduate Diploma in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with a preference for candidates who have an educational background or significant coursework in any of the engineering fields including but not limited to aerospace engineering, space technology, Mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or Metallurgy a related field.
  • Extensive 5+ HR experience, preferably within the manufacturing industry or other high-tech, innovation-driven fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic HR planning, talent management, and organizational development, with an ability to apply these in the context of the manufacturing setup.
  • In-depth understanding of industry practices, metrics, and the unique challenges faced by HR.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with an ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of professionals, including engineers, technicians and other specialists in the manufacturing setup.
  • Proven ability to build trust, foster strong cross-functional relationships, and work collaboratively across various departments, including technical teams.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, regulations and Factory Act with an understanding of how they apply in a high-tech, innovation-centric industry.
  • A collaborative attitude, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, essential for thriving in the often uncertain and rapidly evolving Oil & Gas sector.
