Mechanical Designer - STET
Job Description
Your role:
- Mechanical design changes of a module/sub system/ system
- Plastics and sheet metal components/sub-assemblies design and development
- DFM and DFA activities, conduct reviews with suppliers and optimize design for cost reduction
- Create DFMEA and identify relevant product risks
- Apply GD&T and perform Tolerance stack -up analysis for components/sub system
- Identify suitable materials for designs and develop manufacturing specifications
- Performing hand calculations for the design feasibility
- Create 3D models, assembly, detailing including drawing conversions & generating BoM
- Work with supplier, procurement engineer to complete the prototype and qualifications
- First Article Inspections and wherever required perform measurements
- Requirements Design, unit level verification testing and integration of unit in accordance with higher-level requirement and design specifications/architectures
- Reliability and serviceability of the system/sub system/component
- Complying to all applicable medical standards/regulations such as ISO, FDA & internal QMS.
- Working closely with cross functional team (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, Service, Marketing) and manage stakeholders for projects
- Provide technical support to suppliers & other departments to fulfill project/production needs
- Support localization activities and engineering change management
- Manage the obsolescence, resolve production issues and customer complaints
- Coaching and supporting junior team members

You're the right fit if you have
- B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical /Automobile/Industrial Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant experience in design and development of complex electromechanical products & systems (on end-to-end medical device or equivalent Automobile/Industrial products)
- Strong knowledge of plastics, sheetmetal, structural design, manufacturing processes, and CAD (3D modeling & 2D drawings). Experience in SolidWorks, FEA and mold flow analysis is preferred.
- Good at hand calculation of the design
- Experience in DFM/DFMEA/Six sigma and design/quality tools and processes.
- Working knowledge of IEC 60601 & medical standards are preferred.
- Fast learner and interest to learn new technologies/business/system
- System thinking mindset and domain expertise in the related area
- Quality mindset in design and documentation
- Excellent communication skills & Team player
- Mindset to simplify and reach to solutions with speed
- Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills required
