The Laboratory of Virology at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), is inviting applications for a postdoctoral research position focusing on mucosal immune responses to respiratory viruses such as coronaviruses and influenza. The selected candidate will have access to advanced BSL-4 laboratory facilities and will work within a multidisciplinary team to advance our understanding of viral pathogenesis and immune mechanisms at mucosal surfaces.
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct experiments under BSL2–BSL4 containment conditions.
– Investigate immune mechanisms following infection or vaccination.
– Utilize high-dimensional flow cytometry, spatial profiling, and advanced immunological/virological techniques.
– Analyze and interpret complex immunological and virological data.
– Prepare research manuscripts and present findings at leading scientific conferences.
– Mentor junior members of the laboratory.
Requirements
– PhD in immunology, virology, microbiology, or a related field.
– Demonstrated expertise in flow cytometry, spatial profiling, and experimental virology.
– Proven research productivity and ability to work independently.
– Willingness to work in high-containment laboratory settings and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
