Job Profile For Senior Agronomy Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Agronomy Scientist to lead our fertilizer recommendation and usage management programs. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both organic and chemical fertilizer systems, soil fertility and sustainable crop strategies across diverse agro-climatic zones.

Qualification & Experience

  • Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in agronomic research with a focus on fertilizer use efficiency and nutrient management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale agronomic research programs and teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of soil testing, fertilizer recommendations and integrated nutrient management.
  • Familiarity with national and international fertilizer use regulations and sustainability standards.
  • Strong communication, leadership and analytical skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

Scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Lead the design, development and execution of field trials and lab studies to evaluate fertilizer response (organic, inorganic and blended) across major crops.
  • Develop site-specific, crop-specific and region-specific fertilizer recommendation protocols.
  • Work closely with teams to formulate new bio-fertilizer and organic inputs.
  • Provide technical leadership in nutrient use efficiency strategies to support sustainable agriculture.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, academic institutions and regulatory bodies on soil health and fertilizer policy.
  • Author research papers and contribute to scientific journals and conferences.
