Job Description
This is an operational role responsible for managing day to day Procurement of IT categories viz. Software & Professional Services. This is an operational role that may seek appropriate level of guidance and advice to ensure delivery of quality outcome.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT categories such as Software, Professional Services and Managed Services.
Conduct end-to-end sourcing: RFI/RFP creation, bid evaluations, supplier negotiations, and award finalization.
Align sourcing plans with business objectives and technology roadmaps.
2. Vendor Management & Governance
Identify, evaluate, and onboard best-fit IT vendors.
Drive vendor performance through QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews), SLAs, and KPIs.
Manage risk, compliance, and governance across vendor engagements.
3. Contract Lifecycle Management
Lead contract negotiations covering commercial terms, licensing models, renewal clauses, data protection, and termination rights.
Manage renewals, amendments, and renegotiations of IT contracts.
Ensure legal and compliance alignment with internal policies and local/global laws.
4. Cost Optimization & Value Creation
Analyse and benchmark pricing using tools like Gartner, IDC, or internal cost models.
Identify opportunities for consolidation, volume discounts, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) reductions.
Leverage procurement levers to drive savings beyond just pricing (e.g., payment terms, scope optimization).
5. Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with CIO, CISO, Finance, Legal, and other business stakeholders to understand IT needs.
Act as a procurement advisor in digital transformation, cloud migrations, and SaaS adoption.
Maintain transparent and timely communication throughout sourcing and contract cycles.
6. Risk & Compliance Management
Ensure cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance across IT vendors.
Evaluate vendors for ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) compliance, especially for global supply chains.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure business continuity plans are in place with critical vendors.
7. Market Intelligence & Innovation
Stay updated on emerging IT sourcing trends, new technologies, pricing models, and supplier innovations.
Build competitive intelligence reports and category dashboards.
Identify strategic partners who can enable innovation and agility.
