We are looking for Trouble Shooter and Components Specialist

You’ll make a difference by

  • Ensure that maintenance activities are efficient, cost-effective, and that electric locomotives operate safely and effectively, contributing to the overall efficiency of Rolling stock equipment.
  • These roles are pivotal in maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of Locomotive.
  • Conduct research and evaluations of components and systems to identify potential
  • improvements, cost-effective solutions, and emerging technologies that can enhance rolling stock performance and safety.
  • Efficient in Trouble shooting and identify the reason of failure and take corrective action of Electric locomotive.
  • Depth knowledge about the Locomotive Components like Propulsion, Brake System, Roof equipment and Under Frame equipment etc.
  • Team management skills, well versed in communication and Learning approach will enhancement the opportunity.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Diagnostic Expertise: Troubleshooters are responsible for diagnosing and identifying electrical and mechanical issues, malfunctions, and faults in electric locomotives. They use their expertise to pinpoint the root causes of problems.
  • Technical Skills: Possess a deep understanding of electric locomotive systems, including traction systems, electrical circuits, control systems, and mechanical components.
  • Problem Solving: Develop effective problem-solving strategies and implement solutions to repair and restore locomotives to operational status.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct maintenance and repair work on electric locomotives, which may involve disassembly, replacement of defective components, and reassembly. Ensure that all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that maintenance and repair tasks are carried out in a safe manner to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Tool Proficiency: Be skilled in the use of various tools, equipment, and instruments required for troubleshooting and repair work, particularly electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of troubleshooting activities, including issues identified, repairs made, and replacement parts used. This documentation is essential for tracking maintenance histories and making informed decisions.
  • Training and Mentorship: In some cases, troubleshooters may provide training and mentorship to less experienced technicians to enhance the overall maintenance team's skills and capabilities.
  • Supportive: Support and guide Prompt Response Team for online trouble shooting and ensure the locomotive get restored within stipulated time with safety.
  • Component Inspection: Inspect, test, and assess the condition of components to determine whether they are in working order or require maintenance or replacement.
  • Component Knowledge: Components specialists are experts in specific components, parts, or systems used in machinery and equipment. They have an in-depth understanding of the design, operation, and maintenance of these components.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the troubleshooting team to provide expertise on component-related issues and assist in identifying the best solutions for equipment problems.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest technology and advancements related to the specific components they specialize in.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all components meet quality standards and are tested for optimal performance before installation.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor of Engineering/Diploma in Engineering in Electrical/Electronic discipline or its equivalent.
  • Possesses more than 10 years of working experiences in rolling stock
  • Good technical knowledge is preferable to Maintenance and Troubleshooting in Electric Locomotive.
  • Depth Knowledge in Locomotive components will be preferable.
  • Having adequate experience as a Trouble shooter, component specialist or Prompt response team
  • Good knowledge of IT systems
  • Excellent communicator, both written and oral.
  • People Management experience.
  • Well versed in Presentation skills
