Job Summary

The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring that dairy products meet internal and regulatory quality standards throughout the production and packaging processes. This role focuses on monitoring quality control procedures, analyzing data, auditing processes, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain food safety and quality systems such as FSSAI, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and SOPs.
  • Conduct routine inspection, sampling, and testing of raw milk, in-process materials, and finished products.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment for chemical, physical, and microbiological testing.
  • Investigate and report non-conformities, initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate internal audits and support third-party audits (regulatory and customer audits).
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections and test results; generate reports for analysis and management review.
  • Train production and quality staff on best practices in hygiene, food safety, and quality protocols.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, R&D) to support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with packaging, labeling, and shelf-life validation norms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance/control in a dairy or food processing industry.
  • Knowledge of national and international food safety standards.
  • Proficiency in lab testing, documentation, and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, MS Office, and QMS software.
