The shift pattern for this post is Mon – Fri 8:45am to 5pm and 4:30pm on a Thursday.
We are looking for highly motivated and proactive individual to join our friendly and supportive pharmacy team in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a variety of clinical areas throughout Gartnavel General Hospital site. Although based at Gartnavel General Hospital, cross sector working in any North Sector site will be required. You will ensure the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients, co-ordinate and manage ward top-up services and be responsible for recycling & redistributing non-stock medicines that have been ordered for patients, helping to ensure that missed doses are avoided. You will reduce drug expenditure and potential subsequent waste. You will dispense medicines for patients being discharged from hospital and support nursing staff with good housekeeping of medicines.
The post holder will be an integral member of the pharmacy team and work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team including nurses, medical staff, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
You must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to organise and prioritise your own workload and the workload of others. An SVQ/NVQ Level 2 pharmacy qualification or demonstrable training to equivalent level and 2 years’ experience of working in a pharmacy setting is desirable along with good IT skills. Experience working in hospital pharmacy is desirable however full training will be provided.
The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 08.45-17.00/ 430pm on a Wednesday (37 hours) and includes participation in public holidays and weekend working.
