Quality Inspector - Mounted Bullet


About the Role

A Quality Inspector for Mounted Bullets with an NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) certification is responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of materials and components used in the construction and fabrication of mounted bullets. This role requires a strong understanding of welding, fabrication, and quality assurance/control processes.


Responsibilities

  • Inspection and Testing:
  • Conduct NDT inspections using techniques such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, dye penetrant inspection, and radiographic testing.
  • Evaluate welds and fabrications to ensure compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).


  • Quality Assurance/Control:
  • Oversee the quality assurance and quality control processes during the construction and fabrication of mounted bullets.
  • Prepare and review Daily Progress Reports (DPR) and Weekly Progress Reports (WPR) to track project status and quality metrics.


  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality control measures.
  • Create comprehensive reports for customers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.


  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify and resolve quality issues.


Qualifications


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in engineering or materials science is preferred.
  • Certification: NDT certification (e.g., ASNT Level II or III, ISO 9712) is required.
  • Experience: Proven experience in the construction and fabrication of mounted bullets, with a focus on inspection and quality assurance/control.
  • Strong knowledge: of welding processes, including WPS, PQR, and WPQ.
