Job Title: AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Operations Manager

Job Summary: The AMI Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in metering systems and the ability to lead a team in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. AMI System Management:

    • Lead the planning, deployment, and ongoing management of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure system.
    • Ensure the reliability, accuracy, and security of the AMI network and associated technologies.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Manage a team of AMI technicians, engineers, and support staff.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their technical skills.
  3. Deployment and Integration:

    • Oversee the installation and integration of AMI devices and communication networks.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  4. Performance Monitoring:

    • Implement monitoring tools to assess the performance of AMI devices and identify potential issues.
    • Analyze data to optimize system performance and troubleshoot problems.
  5. Compliance and Regulations:

    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and cybersecurity protocols.
    • Stay updated on changes in regulations related to AMI and implement necessary adjustments.
  6. Vendor Management:

    • Collaborate with vendors to procure AMI hardware and software.
    • Manage relationships with third-party providers and ensure service level agreements are met.
  7. Data Security:

    • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect AMI data from unauthorized access.
    • Develop and enforce protocols for data privacy and confidentiality.
  8. Training and Documentation:

    • Develop training programs for staff involved in AMI operations.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of AMI processes, procedures, and configurations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in managing AMI systems or similar metering technologies.
  • Strong technical proficiency in smart meters, communication protocols, and data analytics.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
