Job Description

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Remove roadblocks, advise on issue resolution and risk mitigation
  • Bring appropriate issues/decisions to Stakeholders
  • Provide direction on communication approach and messaging with the broader enterprise
  • Facilitate PI events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value
  • Own integrated / Capability-wide project Roadmap
  • Report on health and progress of the overall Program / Capability
  • Manage and mitigate dependencies, issues, and risks across the project portfolio and the Enterprise
  • Make key project decisions around timeline and budget
  • Provide resolution for any resourcing gaps or conflicts in conjunction with the STE / SM and other Leads
  • Owns dependency management across the Capability and between Capabilities as needed
  • Establishes and oversees vendor contracts (with input from Technical Managers)
  • Build, organize and lead high performing program teams, determining effective engagement models to drive efficient delivery
  • Serve as the lead voice on projects, driving the early clarification and documentation of strategic & technical requirements, conceptualizing and explaining complex ideas clearly, managing expectations and implementation, and exhibiting transparency
  • Manage executive-level stakeholders across business and technology, escalating issues / risks, communicating progress on delivery of key capabilities and driving key decisions
  • Create and maintain roadmap-level schedules, status materials, resource plans and budgets
  • Lead initiatives end-to-end, delegating and monitoring delivery management as appropriate to team while performing in a dynamic, often ambiguous environment that requires prioritizing and resolving competing time-sensitive requests with a calm and pleasant demeanor
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise governance standards and establish consistent best practices in collaboration with other RTE’s, Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters and other stakeholders across the enterprise
  • Primary facilitator of Enterprise Governance activities including Budget, Timeline and Scope management

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • 10+ years of combined IT delivery experience (Program / Project Management, Scrum Master, etc)
  • 5+ years of Program Management experience in an Agile context establishing and running large, complex software development and new product introduction programs with a demonstrated track record of people and thought leadership, a strong progressive track record of results and accomplishments in dynamic, mission critical environments
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills especially with executive stakeholders
  • Consulting experience highly preferred
  • Experience managing many internal and external partners and successfully aligning roadmaps and schedules
  • Subject matter knowledge and/or experience with the Financial Services industry and relevant technologies leveraged across the GDD organization is a plus (general financial services / asset management, Adobe Experience Manager, ECM tools such as Alfresco, Vermillion, Mulesoft, Data platforms including MDM, ETL and related data warehousing technologies, Salesforce, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, AWS Cloud technologies including Python, Redshift, Analytics and operational reporting)
  • Experience managing programs with concurrent multiple projects of medium to large size and complexity
  • Experience implementing solutions in complex technology ecosystem environments requiring complex and multiple integration points
  • Direct Program Management experience leading data product launches
  • Proven experience managing vendor partners, third party solution implementations and contractor resourcing

  • Strong team leadership skills, driving effective team operating models and improving team maturity levels in understanding process and increasing productivity via influence rather than direct authority
  • Possess a deep understanding of complex technical and functional topics, abstract key issues and risks and translate these into an actionable form for executive management
  • Be comfortable leading discussions and communicating regularly with senior leadership on program initiatives including the development of roadmaps that align strategic objectives with tactical technology and solution delivery plans
  • Bring a consultative, customer-focused mindset with proven creative problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • See the big picture while paying attention to the details and navigate complex processes with ease in order to deliver program goals and objectives on time and within budget
  • Effectively and consistently communicate overall program status (both written and verbal), driving stakeholder engagement to promote success of initiatives within the Domain
  • Build relationships with key business and technology stakeholders
  • Adapt agile project management and other methodology best practices to effectively deliver on time constrained projects
  • Be able to comprehend and deal well with rapid changes, while remaining calm and flexible in the face of uncertainty
  • Work across team boundaries to get things done
  • Improve team processes that accelerate innovation, reduce costs, and/or improve quality
  • Produce timely weekly and monthly project reports in accordance with the company’s standards
  • Lead Integrated Program Teams, comprised of staff from multiple organizations, in meeting project objectives
  • Provide the focus and leadership required to react to events, changes and obstacles that require the delivery and execution approach to be adjusted and alterations in the course being steered without missing the goal
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where production releases occur in 2-4 week durations
  • Familiar with knowledge management tools such as Teams, Sharepoint, Confluence etc.

License / Registration / Certification:

  • Scrum Master and Scaled Agile Framework certifications are a plus
