About Role:

  • As Director of Product, you will be responsible for a critical product portfolio and continue to expand its suite of next-generation AI writing tools.
  • This critical role will partner closely with the VP of Product and VPs of other functions to build the future product vision and strategy, manage and grow a team of world-class product managers, and identify new opportunities for product expansion.
  • We are seeking an agile, creative, entrepreneurial product leader who knows how to continuously iterate and grow a business.
  • This Director of Product will be instrumental as the company seeks to 3x its user base and continues to grow both domestically and internationally.
  • Product-based company experience is a must. No service background

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish, drive, and communicate a long-term strategic product vision and direction that delivers significant business impact and is aligned with company strategy.
  • Partner with the leadership team to set the company vision, understand overarching company priorities, develop an overall product strategy, and unite around the roadmap.
  • Recruit, lead, coach, develop, and motivate an exceptional team of product managers.
  • Create a product development process that creates user experiences and journeys that delight customers and deliver on KPIs.
  • Drive a data-centric product culture by defining clear KPIs for the product and design team, tracking them, and measuring success.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer’s problems and the competitive landscape to build product refinements and new features that delight users.
  • Create an innovative, inclusive, customer-focused culture that fosters empowerment, growth, and collaboration.
  • Build strong partnerships with leaders across the company to solve tough challenges and create seamless, cohesive experiences.
  • Build a culture of product excellence and speed, setting a high bar for fast-paced iteration and quality in a fluid, remote-first work environment

This Role Requires:

  • 7+ years of product management experience managing the full product development lifecycle, from research to concept to release and future evolution.
  • 3+ years of management experience, building and leading world-class product teams of 20+ people.
  • Strong product intuition, able to take into account the competitive landscape, consumer wants, and anticipate future consumer needs to build innovative products that surprise and delight customers.
  • A track record of success in delivering products in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • A servant leader who inspires and supports colleagues at all levels to achieve their best performance.
  • Ability to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with client’s business goals, drive detailed trade-offs over the product life cycle, manage conflict, and explain the rationale behind product decisions.
  • Customer-focused, organized, data-driven mindset that ensures the team adheres to a well-defined product development lifecycle centered around KPIs.
  • Proven record of hiring, managing, and coaching diverse product teams.
  • Seasoned organizational design thinking on how to best structure a cross-functional product development group.
  • Excellent communication skills across all mediums (visual, written, verbal).
  • Evidence of creating clear, inclusive, and transparent views into progress, pivots, and tradeoffs with iterative product development.
  • Passionate about the client’s mission.
  • Strong empathy for the customer and a desire to build products that solve real customer problems.
  • Technical background and a strong educational pedigree (CS Bachelor’s degree/MBA) is preferred
