Job Summary

If you are familiar with Project management, processes and leadership looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! The Discrete Automation (DAUT) Community of Expertise (COE) Innovation process and project management office (PMO) is looking for a Manager PMO APAC to drive innovation and increase effectiveness & efficiency of projects and projects portfolio cross strategic business units (SBU). This profile will be part of a distributed team within Discrete Automation.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Be responsible for the New Product Development process in collaboration with World Area PMO leads.
    • Harmonize the processes, methods and tools for/with all Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
    • Improve the NPD process (incl. combined approaches of waterfall and agile project management)
    • Work on the harmonization of the project manager role picture for/with all Strategic Business Units (SBUs).
  • Support the implementation of the innovation pathway.
  • Support the project portfolio management together with the other WA PMO leads.
    • Implement the defined cross SBU single point of truth for project/portfolio data.
    • Define the cross Strategic Business Unit harmonized project prioritization for/with all SBUs.
    • Track, visualize & evaluate the Americas DAUT NPD and Innovation project portfolio and prepare decision proposals for the SBU leaders.
    • Supervise the project controlling (main topic of your project managers)
  • Manage your team / Talents.
    • Define and supervise overall and individual goals.
    • Develop the Team.
    • Hire and onboard new project managers.
  • Foster a successful collaboration.
    • Serve the Cross SBU collaboration.
    • Work on the World Area collaboration inside IP & PMO
    • Communicate effectively with all main collaborators.
    • Implement changes in culture, organization and processes / tools.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, other technical discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum of six (6) years related experience.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and practices
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Proven track record to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Autonomous working behavior & ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Willing to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or other suitable professional certification(s), e.g. SCRUM, lean, design thinking, MBA
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Authentic leadership skills
