Role description

Role Purpose / Job Description

To drive execution of ongoing and expansion projects across Engineering & Projects (E&P) by ensuring construction activities are delivered as per approved schedules, quality standards, safety norms, and cost benchmarks. The role focuses on effective site execution, contractor coordination, and implementation of project execution strategies across steel plant projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement approved construction schedules and work plans, monitor day‑to‑day site progress, and provide periodic progress updates and MIS to management.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to ensure timely availability of materials, services, and work fronts at site.
  • Manage contract labour deployment, ensuring adherence to safe work procedures, quality standards, and productivity targets.
  • Identify execution‑related risks, gaps, and requirements arising during project construction and escalate issues proactively for timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with vendor and contractor partners to mobilize manpower, materials, and equipment in line with construction schedules.
  • Ensure strict implementation of SOPs, QA/QC systems, EHS rules, and statutory safety standards at site.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, drawings, protocols, measurements, progress reports, and MIS.
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners to improve construction productivity and execution efficiency at site.
  • Provide execution support for order closure and project completion, including completion documentation and handover activities.

Skills

Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of construction management, structural fabrication, and equipment erection in industrial / steel plant projects.
  • Ability to interpret and execute work based on engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications.
  • Experience in structural erection, equipment installation, pipeline jobs, and industrial construction activities.
  • Knowledge of BOQs, technical specifications, indents, work orders, delivery orders, and material reconciliation.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC norms and Tata Steel safety standards, including rigging, work at height, material handling, excavation, and scaffolding.

Behavioural Skills

  • Strong stakeholder and contractor management capability.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for coordination with site teams and partners.
  • Ability to work in high‑pressure project environments with a structured and solution‑oriented approach.
