Job Overview
To implement and monitor the company’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards across the project activities. The role ensures that all site operations are executed safely, in compliance with statutory regulations, client requirements and organization HSE Management systems.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Implementation and Compliance
- Implement and maintain the Organization HSE management system at the project site
- Ensure adherence to local statutory and regulatory requirements (Factories Act, BOCW Act, Environment Act, Pollution Control Board norms, etc.)
- Verify and monitor work permits (Hot work, Confined space, Height work, Electrical Isolation, etc.)
- Ensure subcontractors comply with the company and client HSE requirements.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all critical and routine activities.
- Identify potential hazards associated with mechanical, piping and electrical works
- Recommend preventive and corrective actions to eliminate unsafe conditions and practices
- Conduct daily site inspections and report unsafe acts and conditions
- Ensure safe storage, handling and use of chemicals and hazardous materials
- Montor confined space entry, tank cleaning, chemical dosin and commissioning related activities
- Lead/assist in incident/ near miss investigations, identify root causes and ensure closure of corrective actions
- Maintain records of all HSE incidents and prepare monthly safety performance reports
- Conduct HSE induction training, daily toolbox talks and task specific safety sessions
- Organize periodic awareness programs (e.g. PPE compliance, chemical handling, emergency response, etc.)
- Coordinate with client HSE teams, consultants and subcontractors for compliance and audits.
- Participate in weekly HSE review meetings and share progress updates
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly HES reports and statistical data
- Ensure readiness of firefighting equipment, first aid facilities, and spill control arrangements
- Conduct periodic emergency mock drills
- Develop and update site-specific emergency response plans
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering
- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (recognized by State Technical Board / RLI / CLI / DGFASLI)
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of HSE experience in EPC or construction projects related to ETP, WTP, STP, ZLD or UPW systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements preferred
- Proficient in report writing and MS office applications
- This is contract role and will be site based. It will be based either in Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
- Strong leadership and site coordination skills
- Sound understanding of water treatment plant processes and associated risks.
- Ability to train and motivate the workforce in safe work practices.
