The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD). 

HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafés and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. METRO helps them manage their business challenges more effectively. 

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide HR, Finance, IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. Role Overview

We are seeking a specialist/ team lead who is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, consistency, and governance of organizational data across systems and processes. The role ensures robust data‑quality frameworks, drives standardization, and leads the team in maintaining reliable datasets that support analytics, reporting, and business decision‑making. This position also collaborates closely with cross‑functional partners to streamline data flows, resolve discrepancies, and continuously improve data‑management practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze reporting requirements.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business users, analysts, and data engineers to ensure data pipelines deliver accurate, ready-to-use information.
• Data Monitoring: Monitor dataset refresh, performance, troubleshoot failures, and recommend optimizations.
• Active contribution to monthly closing process, including running quality controls.
• Prepare ad hoc commercial analyses for business departments & team members.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's/master’s degree or higher in quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
•  7-9 years of work experience in data or business analytics or engineering related field.
• Expert in writing SQL and familiar with various database systems (Google Cloud, Microsoft SQL server, Azure).
• Excellent command of MS Excel
• Data visualization expert, familiar with tools and techniques such as Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy.
• Demonstrated experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
• Knowledge of VBA/Python is nice to have
