About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive legal professional with strong experience in in-house legal and compliance functions, particularly in managing commercial agreements and corporate compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess well-rounded exposure across various legal domains relevant to corporate operations, along with strong knowledge of Company Secretarial (CS) matters and statutory corporate compliances.
The role requires close coordination on Companies Act requirements and ensuring legal and governance standards are maintained across the organization. The candidate will also support legal requirements across global group companies and should have a sound understanding of common law principles in a multi-jurisdictional business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including:
- NDAs
- MSAs
- SOWs
- Vendor & Customer Contracts
- Technology & Licensing Agreements
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, 2013
- Maintain statutory registers and records
- Assist in board/shareholder resolutions and governance documentation
- Support corporate governance requirements
- Liaise and coordinate with external stakeholders, consultants, and legal advisors
- Review and manage:
- Property lease agreements
- Rental agreements
- Office space documentation
- Related legal matters
- Support HR on:
- Employment-related legal matters
- Contract labour compliance
- Internal policy compliance
- Labour law advisory
- Support implementation of data privacy practices
- Review contracts for compliance with:
- GDPR
- DPDP Act
- Other applicable privacy regulations
- Coordinate with external CS consultants for:
- Statutory filings
- Companies Act compliance
- Board-related documentation
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments
- Support implementation of required changes in:
- Contracts
- Policies
- Business processes
- Partner with HR, Finance, Admin, Procurement, and Business teams
- Provide practical and business-oriented legal guidance
- Maintain:
- Contract repositories
- Compliance trackers
- Secretarial records
- Drive improvements in legal operations and documentation processes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) is mandatory
- CS qualification or strong CS/compliance exposure preferred
- 6+ years of experience in:
- Corporate legal functions
- In-house legal roles
- Law firms
- Strong understanding of:
- Commercial law
- Corporate law
- Contract management
- Exposure to:
- Land laws
- Labour laws
- Data protection regulations
- Corporate compliance
- Familiarity with common law systems and international subsidiaries
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and attention to detail
