Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive L2 Network Engineer with 4–7 years of experience in enterprise network operations and support. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, LAN/WAN technologies, and network monitoring. The role involves troubleshooting network incidents, ensuring network availability, supporting security infrastructure, and handling escalations from Level 1 support teams.

Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve L2 network incidents related to routing, switching, firewall, VPN, and connectivity issues.
- Handle escalations from L1 support teams and provide timely resolution within defined SLAs.
- Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN gateways.
- Investigate network performance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor network health using enterprise monitoring tools and respond to alerts proactively.
- Support firewall policy changes, access control requests, and security-related troubleshooting.
- Perform network change implementations, upgrades, and maintenance activities as per change management procedures.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, ISPs, and service providers for issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, incident records, and operational procedures.
- Participate in on-call support and major incident management activities when required.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards.
Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, NAT, ACLs, and network protocols.
- Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Experience managing firewalls such as Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, or similar.
- Knowledge of VPN technologies including IPsec and SSL VPN.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, NSE, PCNSE, or equivalent are preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Remarks
Strong troubleshooting capabilities and operational support experience are mandatory. The candidate should be comfortable working in a 24x7 support environment and managing critical network incidents.
