We are looking for a Project Manager who combines strong programme delivery instincts with genuine commercial accountability and data awareness. If you are someone who owns outcomes end-to-end, builds trust with senior clients, and knows how to protect commercial position while getting complex data and platform implementations across the line - we would love to connect.
What You Bring
- 8-10 years of experience in delivery management, programme management, or project management roles
- Delivery-first background - you have owned project outcomes end-to-end, not just tracked tasks
- Experience working on or managing data, analytics, ETL, or platform implementation projects
- Track record of managing client relationships at a senior stakeholder level
- Experience managing project budgets, billing milestones, or commercial delivery targets
- Background in technology consulting, systems integration, or enterprise software delivery
- Experience delivering AI or agentic products: you have worked on at least one project where an LLM-powered feature, AI agent, or agentic workflow was a core deliverable
- Exposure to banking, financial services, or fintech clients is strongly preferred
- Africa or emerging market client exposure is an advantage given Lera’s geography
- Experience working on or alongside data projects - ETL/ELT, data pipelines, reporting, or analytics implementations
- Ability to read and understand SQL at a working level - enough to follow a data issue or validate a reconciliation
- Familiarity with how data moves through systems: source extraction, transformation, loading, and consumption by BI or reporting tools
- Basic understanding of software delivery concepts: APIs, integrations, environments, deployments, and release cycles
- Comfortable using delivery and project tools: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage - not a requirement
- Familiarity with agentic AI concepts: tool use, memory, multi-step reasoning, and orchestration of autonomous workflows
- Exposure to AI agent frameworks and tooling: LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar orchestration libraries
- Understanding of LLM deployment patterns: model APIs, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and vector store integration
- Awareness of AI deployment considerations: latency, cost-per-token, model versioning, evaluation frameworks, and responsible AI guardrails
- Experience managing or overseeing delivery of AI-powered products in an enterprise environment - enough to challenge timelines, define acceptance criteria, and identify rollout risks
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
- MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage, particularly given the P&L and commercial expectations of this role
- PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or PSM certification is preferred
- Any data or analytics certification (e.g. Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals) is an advantage
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for project tracking and reporting
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or any BI reporting tool is an advantage
- Come to leadership with a problem and two options - not a question
- Do not allow informal scope expansion - log it or push back in the same conversation
- Do not start work without scope clarity and written alignment
- Do not delay raising change requests - early is always better for the client relationship
- Run governance meetings with authority - challenge both client and internal teams when needed
- Maintain a living project plan: milestone owner, date, status, and risk level on every row
As a Project Manager, you will
- Own full project delivery - scope, timeline, quality, risk, and billing from initiation to closure
- Run governance cadences - SteerCo, WBR, and QBR - with authority and consistency
- Manage scope and change requests with zero tolerance for free work - log it, price it, bill it
- Track and trigger invoicing tied to accepted milestones - no missed billing cycles
- Understand and protect project P&L - margin, cost-to-deliver, and billing status at any point in time
- Engage credibly with data and engineering teams as an informed business owner, not a technical lead
- Manage senior client stakeholders - not just working teams - building trust through consistency
- Identify account growth opportunities and escalate to Lera leadership
- Define how cross-functional teams interact - clear ownership beyond just a RACI
- Drive data platform delivery: pipeline health, reconciliation, client data acceptance, and hypercare
- Manage delivery of agentic AI features and deployments, coordinating between LLM engineers, data teams, and client stakeholders across readiness reviews, testing phases, and production rollout
- Flag risks early - to both client and internal leadership - before they become escalations
- Participate in SOW reviews to ensure delivery commitments are commercially viable before sign-off
