Job Description:

Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks, and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our NCS software solutions team that develops solutions including firmware, drivers, etc. that brings more value to NCS products with a strong customer focus. We are looking for a self-driven, proactive Firmware Engineer with good exposure to embedded environment, is willing to work as an individual contributor and to lead a team as required.

Responsibilities:
  • To be able to work as an individual contributor and also capable of leading a project as required Actively involved in the development of customer centric solutions and products that involves development of firmware and/or drivers
  • Actively take part in technical discussions, brainstorming and Code Reviews, etc.
  • Should be a self-motivated individual, expected to be interacting with cross functional teams located across the globe
  • Able to create unit and system level test cases for the modules being developed
  • Getting involved during all the phases of product life cycle, right from requirement gathering, Module Design, Implementation, Release and sustenance

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Requirements
  • Holds a Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in ECE or CSE or EEE
  • The candidate should be very strong in C programming in an embedded environment
  • Working experience with any one or more of 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit micro controllers
  • Working experience with Peripheral Interfaces like PCIe, SPI, I2C, UART etc.
  • Working experience with Dynamic Debugging Tools like JTAG debuggers
  • Working experience with Logic Analyzers, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes and other embedded software development tools
  • Good exposure to complete product development life cycle
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in collaborative group environment.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to develop design specifications based on input from multiple stakeholders and specifications..
  • Reach out to different stake holders to solve any problem, as the situation demands Good Communication, analytical and problem solving skills

Required Experience: 5 to 8 years

Desired Skills/Knowledge:
  • Understanding of one or more of the following protocols: Ethernet, USB, USB Power Delivery
  • Knowledge and experience in Windows system programming and Windows device drivers is an added advantage
  • Knowledge on RTOS / Linux / Mac
  • Experience in using static analysis tools like PC Lint, Coverity
  • Knowledge of Assembly language Programming
