Role description

The Data Analytics Senior Manager is responsible for driving innovative and strategic solutions through a blended approach of data analytics tools and business acumen. This role focuses on leveraging data to generate actionable insights that support buy-side and sell-side deal narratives, test and validate value creation hypotheses, and deliver deeper, insight-driven analytics through a combination of advanced analysis, reporting, and dashboarding
The Senior Manager leads analytics-driven workstreams, partnering closely with clients and US stakeholders to consolidate and structure large, complex datasets from disparate sources. Responsibilities include integrating external data, defining relevant analytical approaches, and identifying key trends to support overall engagement objectives. While dashboarding and reporting are key deliverables, the primary emphasis of the role is on insight generation and storytelling. The Senior Manager translates complex analyses into clear, concise, and decision-ready insights that enable informed business decision-making
Responsibilities include planning, executing, directing, and completing projects and supervising, training and mentoring the team. The Data Analytics Senior Manager works closely with PPMDs, Directors, Managers, Senior Associates and Associates and plays a key role in client management, practice development, and business development for an assigned group of initiatives
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of client engagements:

o Plan, document and communicate the goals of the project

o Outline a path to completion

o Oversee the development of dashboards

o Collect insights from users and modify the project accordingly

  • Train the team on the utilization of advanced business intelligence tools including complex calculations, table calculations, mapping, data blending and optimization of data extracts.
  • Manage expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively.
  • Work closely with Grant Thornton Directors and PPMDs to promptly identify and resolve problems or issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and client relationships in order to provide maximum value to our clients through the delivery of our full solution.
  • Team with PPMDs and Directors on proposals and business development calls.
  • Manage and develop the team and assess performance on initiatives and engagements for year-end reviews.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Statistics or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in data preparation and transformation tools such as Python and/or Alteryx.
  • Alteryx certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including handling large datasets and working with power pivots.
  • Overall 8+ years of relevant experience in consulting or analytics roles, supporting clients at a national or global level.
  • Atleast 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in executing and managing analytics engagements within Transaction Services, including buy-side and sell-side due diligence.
  • Experience managing and leading teams of 5 or more members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice.
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
