We are looking for a high-reaching Service Sales Manager to join our CMD (Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division) service commercial team.

The position is permanent and based out of Mumbai. In-person travels to customers in the assigned region is required along with service, commercial and other teams.

This role is ideal for a Science/Engineering graduate with relevant sales, business development or customer-facing experience, who wants to pursue a strategic sales and business analysis career at a global company.

DESCRIPTION

What will you do?

Service Commercial Business Management

  • As a Service Sales Manager, you will drive service commercial business across West1 regions, focusing on contract renewals, warranty conversions, spares sales, and on-call service business
  • Manage and grow the service contract portfolio, ensuring high contract coverage, renewal rates, and profitability across assigned territories
  • Develop and execute strategies to convert warranty customers to comprehensive service contracts, maximizing customer lifetime value
  • Drive spares business through proactive customer engagement and identification of customer needs with the help of regional service team
  • Promote and sell on-call service offerings, qualification activities, hardware upgrades, software upgrades, and customized service products to customers
  • Handle key customer accounts in the regions, initiating and building strong customer relationships
  • Keep track of competition activities in the service commercial business and develop counterstrategies

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Formulate competitive and data-driven pricing quotations aligned with business objectives
  • Develop regional business plans for the territories with clear revenue targets and growth strategies
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with service delivery, technical, and commercial teams
  • Present business reviews and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

REQUIREMENTS

Who we are looking for:

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Science/Engineering graduate preferred; MBA or relevant business qualification is a plus
  • 8-10 years of experience in service sales, business development, or commercial roles, preferably in scientific instruments, analytical equipment, or life sciences industry
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth
  • Experience in managing large customer base

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in English in read, write and speak; knowledge of Hindi and regional languages is advantageous
  • Strong business acumen with ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage and influence at all levels, from technical users to C-suite executives
  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to close complex deals
  • Sales-driven approach; strongly motivated by targets and business outcomes
  • Strategic thinking combined with execution excellence
  • Ability to work independently and manage time optimally to prioritize and complete tasks
  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Comfortable with frequent travel across region (40-50% travel expected)
  • Able to adapt to a constantly evolving business environment and changing market dynamics

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with CMD products (Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, or related analytical instruments)
  • Background in contract management and warranty programs
  • Experience in data analytics and business intelligence
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, research, or academic customer segments
