About The Opportunity

Role: Project Coordinator (CSR)

Reporting To: Senior Manager - Corporate Social Responsibility

Location: Gurgaon

About The Function

The MakeMyTrip Foundation is the philanthropic and CSR arm of MakeMyTrip, India’s leading travel company. We exist on a simple conviction: tourism should enrich the places and communities it touches - never deplete them. Our mission is to make India’s tourist destinations more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive, by nurturing the local communities and natural ecosystems that make these places worth travelling to.

We work hand-in-hand with regional NGOs, environmentalists, government bodies, socially conscious hotel partners, and eco-volunteers across the country. Our programmes span afforestation and green cover, sustainable water management, responsible waste disposal, marine and coastal ecosystem preservation, community-based tourism, sustainable livelihoods, education, and disaster relief and rehabilitation.

About The Role

We are looking for a Project Coordinator to support the execution, monitoring, and reporting of our CSR and community development initiatives. You will be the connective tissue between our office and the field - working closely with implementation partners, spending meaningful time at project sites, engaging diverse stakeholders, and ensuring our programmes are delivered with quality, transparency, and measurable impact.

This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable reviewing a budget, walking a plantation site, sitting with a community group, and presenting outcomes to leadership. If you want your work to leave a visible mark on India’s landscapes and communities, you’ll feel at home here.

What Will You Be Doing

  • Coordinate end-to-end execution of CSR and community development projects across multiple locations, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for NGO partners and implementation agencies – reviewing work plans, deliverables, and fund utilisation against agreed milestones.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to monitor progress, verify on-ground implementation, and gather first-hand feedback from communities and partners.
  • Track project outputs, outcomes, and impact against defined indicators; support baseline studies, impact assessments, and third-party evaluations to measure programme effectiveness.
  • Prepare high-quality progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for management, trustees, and statutory CSR reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, MIS, and fund-disbursement records in line with governance and compliance norms.
  • Build and manage relationships with communities, government and district authorities, hotel and tourism partners, volunteers, and other ecosystem stakeholders to drive programme success.
  • Support the identification and design of new initiatives, partner due diligence, and review of project proposals.
  • Contribute to volunteering drives, awareness campaigns, and rapid disaster-relief efforts as needs arise.

Qualification & Experience

  • Graduate degree required; post-graduation desirable. A degree in Environmental Science / Studies, Social Work, Rural Development, Development Studies, Natural Resource Management, Sociology, Public Policy, or a related discipline will be preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in CSR, NGOs/Foundations, the development sector, social impact, community development, rural development, or environmental conservation.
  • Demonstrated exposure to project coordination, partner management, monitoring & evaluation, field implementation, fund management, and impact reporting.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage: environmental conservation and afforestation, waste management, water conservation, livelihoods and community development, marine and coastal ecosystem preservation, community-based and sustainable tourism, destination development, rural development, and disaster relief & rehabilitation.

Why Join Us

At the MakeMyTrip Foundation you will work on initiatives that span the Himalayas to the Andaman seas, alongside a purpose-driven team and a respected network of partners. You’ll see the direct results of your work – in forests regenerated, communities empowered, destinations made more sustainable, and lives rebuilt after crisis. If you believe that tourism can thrive without costing the environment or local communities, we’d love to hear from you.
