Role description

GT INDUS VC team is a part of Grant Thornton’s global advisory platform, providing deal and transaction support across the engagement lifecycle. The team works closely with US-based stakeholders and deal teams, delivering financial, operational, and analytical support across a range of transaction advisory services, including due diligence, restructuring, and performance improvement initiatives
With a focus on middle-market and high-growth organizations, GT INDUS supports private equity clients and corporates in navigating complex transactions, including buy-side and sell-side engagements, restructuring, and capital solutions, while helping evaluate key financial and operational issues, manage risk, and identify strategic opportunities to create value
Established with a strong foundation in transaction advisory, the INDUS platform brings together experienced professionals across due diligence, data analytics, and research, providing critical support to global deal teams across the engagement lifecycle
Role overview This is an execution-focused role within transaction and value creation engagements, responsible for delivering high-quality analysis and supporting structured problem-solving across deal workstreams. The role involves working closely with global teams to analyze financial and operational data, synthesize findings, and contribute to the development of clear, insight-driven outputs that support investment decisions and value creation initiatives
Key responsibilities
  • Project delivery & analysis

o Perform structured analysis across cost structures, KPIs, benchmarking, and operational performance to support value creation initiatives

o Support workstreams across operational diligence (ODD), integration, carve-out execution, and value tracking

o Build and maintain financial models, trackers, and data-driven outputs to support deal teams

o Synthesize management inputs and large datasets into clear findings, observations, and structured insights

  • Tool Development & knowledge enablement

o Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools, templates, and analytical frameworks to support consistent and efficient project execution

o Support creation of standardized outputs, dashboards, and data structures aligned with evolving deal requirements

o Assist in capturing learnings and best practices to strengthen team capabilities across engagements

  • Firm reinvestment activities

o Support internal initiatives focused on capability building, including knowledge development, research, and content creation

o Contribute to preparation of internal materials and analysis supporting broader team priorities

o Participate in firm-led efforts aimed at strengthening delivery quality, efficiency, and value creation impact

The role involves working closely with senior stakeholders to shape engagement approaches, deliver actionable insights, and ensure successful execution aligned with deal objectives and value creation priorities, while contributing to thought leadership, team development, and growth of the broader practice.


Key responsibilities

  • Workstream leadership & delivery

  • Lead complex workstreams across operational diligence (ODD), cost optimization, operating model design, integration, and carve-out engagements

  • Drive structured problem-solving, hypothesis development, and solution design across project teams

  • Oversee and review financial and operational analyses to ensure quality, robustness, and alignment with deal objectives

  • Translate outputs into clear, decision-ready deliverables, including executive presentations, value creation plans, and implementation trackers

  • Client leadership & team building

  • Engage with senior stakeholders on operating model, separation, and execution-related topics, supporting informed decision-making

  • Build, develop, and mentor high-performing teams, fostering strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities across engagements

  • Provide direction and coaching to team members, ensuring quality delivery and continuous capability development

  • Contribute to creating a collaborative, performance-driven team environment aligned with project and firm priorities

  • Tool development & practice enablement

  • Drive development of internal tools, frameworks, and delivery accelerators to enhance execution efficiency and scalability

  • Lead efforts to standardize methodologies, outputs, and analytical approaches across engagements

  • Contribute to development of thought leadership, points of view (POVs), and market-facing content aligned with value creation priorities

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and evolve the firm’s value creation capabilities across engagements and sectors

  • Firm reinvestment & business development

  • Support business development efforts through proposal inputs, client discussions, and opportunity identification

  • Contribute to shaping the growth agenda for the value creation practice through strategic initiatives and cross-team collaboration

  • Play an active role in internal initiatives focused on capability building, practice scaling, and strengthening delivery quality

  • Support development of internal and external materials aligned with broader firm priorities

Qualifications & Experience

  • 9+ years of experience in consulting, transaction advisory, value creation, or related roles, with strong exposure to deal environments

  • Extensive experience in M&A / deal advisory engagements, including operational diligence, integration, carve-outs, and value creation initiatives

  • Proven ability to lead workstreams, manage senior stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced deal environments

  • Strong understanding of financial and operational drivers, including cost structures, organization design, and value creation levers

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights and executive-level deliverables

  • Experience contributing to business development, internal capability building, or practice development initiatives

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in cross-functional and global environments

  • MBA from a top-tier business school or equivalent relevant educational background
