We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AVP - Senior RFP Writer
Purpose of the role
The Senior RFP Writer plays a critical role in the new business process, supporting HSBC Asset Management’s growth ambitions by leading the delivery of high-quality, accurate and timely client documents. The role focuses on completing RFPs and other client questionnaires for institutional and wholesale clients and consultants globally, across a wide range of asset classes, investment strategies and funds. The role requires strong cross-border collaboration and flexibility to meet client-driven deadlines.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and deliver RFPs and other client questionnaires, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and on-time submission under tight deadlines.
- Plan and manage multiple deliverables at once, with clear timelines, proactive communication, and effective stakeholder expectation management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to articulate HSBC Asset Management’s investment philosophy, capabilities, processes, investment vehicles and competitive advantages.
- Partner with RFP colleagues in other regions to deliver cross-border client responses and ensure consistency of messaging.
- Provide input and support to the Head of RFP, India, to help strengthen and scale the global RFP function.
- Work as an individual contributor while also managing and developing team members through coaching, training and quality oversight.
- Share knowledge and best practices openly and promptly across the global team to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Take on specialist product responsibilities by asset class as required, including direct engagement with investment specialists and subject matter experts.
To be successful you will:
- Have strong experience in RFP writing and managing client questionnaires, including relevant compliance and delivery requirements.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of investment products, markets and institutional client expectations.
- Be familiar with performance and reporting systems, third-party performance databases, and institutional reporting standards including Global Investment Performance Standards.
- Have excellent written and spoken English, with strong investment writing capability and confidence in stakeholder discussions and presentations.
- Show strong project management, organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Be highly detail-oriented, committed to quality, and able to maintain standards under time and stakeholder pressure.
- Be effective at managing multiple stakeholders with differing priorities, building alignment and driving decisions to completion.
- Bring 10 to 12 years of experience in the asset management industry, with a postgraduate qualification such as a Master of Business Administration or equivalent; professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager, or Environmental, Social and Governance certification (completed or in progress) are advantageous.
