General Manager - HR & Administration

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR


We are looking for an experienced HR leader to head the HR & Administration function for its manufacturing operations. The role will partner closely with Plant Leadership and the COO to drive workforce effectiveness, industrial relations, safety and security, statutory compliance, employee engagement, and operational excellence across the plant.


The role includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Act as the HR Business Partner for plant operations and align people initiatives with business goals.
  • Manage Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, grievance handling, and union/workmen engagement.
  • Lead manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
  • Drive performance management, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Oversee employee lifecycle processes, HR operations, and workforce analytics.
  • Manage plant administration including security, housekeeping, transportation, canteen, and facility management.
  • Lead contract labor governance, vendor management, and statutory compliance.
  • Manage HR and administration budgets and drive cost optimization.
  • Maintain high standards of workplace safety, security, and regulatory compliance with zero major safety violations or security incidents.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in HR, Personnel Management, or a related field, with 12–15 years of progressive HR leadership experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, Food & Beverage, Winery, or similar process industries.
  • Strong expertise in Industrial Relations and Labor Law Compliance, ensuring a positive employee relations climate and statutory adherence.
  • Proven ability to partner with Plant Leadership and business stakeholders to drive people and operational outcomes.
  • Ex-Servicemen will be strongly preferred, given their demonstrated experience in leadership, administration, security management, workforce supervision, crisis management, and driving operational excellence in complex environments.
  • Proven capability in Conflict Resolution and Negotiation, particularly in managing workforce, union, and employee-related matters.
  • Experience in Workforce Planning and Talent Management, including manpower planning, hiring, performance management, and employee development.
  • Strong Administrative and Facility Management capabilities, including security, transportation, housekeeping, canteen, and vendor management.
  • Excellent Problem Solving and Decision-Making skills with a practical, business-oriented approach
