Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Acronis Backup Administrator with strong Unix/Linux knowledge to manage, monitor, and support enterprise backup and recovery operations. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and recoverability of business-critical systems and data across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Acronis backup solutions, Linux server administration, backup policy management, restore operations, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery readiness. Acronis Backup Administrator – Unix/Linux We are seeking an experienced Acronis Backup Administrator with strong Unix/Linux knowledge to manage, monitor, and support enterprise backup and recovery operations. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and recoverability of business-critical systems and data across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Acronis backup solutions, Linux server administration, backup policy management, restore operations, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery readiness.Key Responsibilities• Administer, configure, and support Acronis backup infrastructure for servers, virtual machines, and critical workloads.• Monitor backup jobs, storage utilization, alerts, and scheduled tasks to ensure successful backups and timely issue resolution.• Perform backup, restore, recovery, and validation activities in line with defined RPO and RTO requirements.• Install, configure, and maintain Acronis agents on Unix/Linux systems and verify connectivity, registration, and protection status.• Troubleshoot backup failures, agent issues, storage issues, and performance bottlenecks across Linux and mixed-platform environments.• Create and maintain backup policies, retention schedules, recovery plans, and operational runbooks.• Coordinate periodic recovery drills and restore testing to validate backup reliability and disaster recovery readiness.• Work closely with infrastructure, storage, virtualization, network, and security teams to ensure end-to-end data protection.• Apply patches, upgrades, and configuration changes to backup infrastructure in accordance with change management practices.• Maintain documentation, reporting, audit evidence, and compliance records related to backup and recovery operations.• Support incident, problem, and change management activities and participate in on-call support when required.• Recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and capacity planning measures to enhance backup service efficiency. Required Skills and Technical Expertise• Hands-on experience with Acronis Backup / Acronis Cyber Protect administration and operations.• Strong Unix/Linux administration knowledge, including installation, configuration, file systems, permissions, services, logs, and basic shell scripting.• Experience managing backup agents on Linux servers and supporting backup and restore operations for enterprise environments.• Good understanding of backup methodologies such as full, incremental, and differential backups, retention policies, and recovery verification.• Knowledge of disaster recovery concepts, data protection controls, and backup best practices.• Experience with storage concepts such as NAS, SAN, disk-based backup repositories, and capacity management.• Familiarity with virtualization platforms and backup integration in virtual environments.• Working knowledge of network basics, firewall requirements, connectivity troubleshooting, and secure communication between agents and management servers.• Ability to analyze logs, identify root causes, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.• Experience with ticketing and IT service management processes such as incident, change, and problem management.
