Job Description
Position Summary
The Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all banquet and event operations at Fairmont Mumbai, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and flawless event delivery. The role oversees luxury weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, conferences, exhibitions, and high-profile gatherings while maximizing revenue opportunities and maintaining Fairmont brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
- Manage the complete event lifecycle from inquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate and execute large-scale banquets, weddings, conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, and social events.
- Conduct client meetings, site inspections, and event planning sessions.
- Prepare detailed event orders and ensure accurate communication across departments.
- Ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest satisfaction.
Banquet Operations
- Work closely with Banquet Operations, Culinary, Stewarding, Housekeeping, Security, Engineering, and Front Office teams.
- Monitor event setup, décor, audiovisual requirements, seating plans, and guest flow.
- Ensure all banquet venues are prepared according to guest requirements and Fairmont standards.
- Oversee multiple events simultaneously while maintaining operational excellence.
Revenue Generation
- Drive banquet and catering revenues through strategic planning and upselling opportunities.
- Maximize revenue from weddings, corporate meetings, exhibitions, and social events.
- Identify new business opportunities within the local and luxury event market.
- Support the Sales team in achieving budgeted banquet revenue targets.
Client Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with wedding planners, event organizers, corporate clients, and social hosts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the event planning process.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
Wedding & Social Events
- Lead planning and execution of luxury weddings and social celebrations.
- Coordinate with decorators, entertainment providers, production companies, and external vendors.
- Manage elaborate wedding functions including engagements, sangeet, mehendi, receptions, and themed events.
- Ensure personalized guest experiences and attention to detail.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and guide Event Executives and Coordinators.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance service excellence.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
Financial Management
- Monitor event budgets and profitability.
- Ensure accurate billing, contracts, deposits, and event settlements.
- Review banquet forecasts and revenue reports.
- Control costs while maintaining luxury service standards.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all events comply with hotel safety regulations and local laws.
- Coordinate security arrangements for VIP and high-profile events.
- Maintain adherence to Fairmont operational standards and brand guidelines.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in luxury hotel event management.
- Proven experience managing large banquet facilities and high-volume events.
- Experience in luxury weddings and corporate events preferred.
