SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)

To execute and supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems and process piping at the site, including hydrant, sprinkler, pump room, and suppression systems, in accordance with project specifications, approved designs, applicable codes, and safety standards. The role involves daily coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely and compliant delivery of fire protection works and process piping.

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Execute and supervise the installation of fire protection systems and process piping including sprinkler lines, hydrant lines, hose reels, wet risers, pump rooms, and suppression systems such as foam or gas-based systems.
  • Review design drawings, system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and isometric diagrams to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and ELV teams to ensure conflict-free and integrated installation.
  • Monitor the work of subcontractors and ensure timely completion of installation activities in line with project schedules.
  • Conduct hydrostatic testing, flushing, and pressure testing of pipelines and support commissioning activities of pumps and control panels.
  • Prepare and maintain installation checklists, test reports, daily progress updates, and material reconciliation reports.

SECTION V: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum Qualifications: ITI / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Fire & Safety / Industrial Engineering
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English; regional language knowledge preferred for site coordination

Experience

  • Years of Experience: 3 – 10 years
  • Nature of Experience: Experience in execution and commissioning of fire protection systems and process piping at large factory construction sites, with knowledge of hydraulic testing, code compliance, subcontractor coordination, and documentation.
