Job Purpose
The Consultant Endoscopic Spine Surgeon specializes in the diagnosis, management, and surgical treatment of spinal disorders using advanced ultra-minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques. The primary focus is to provide targeted, motion-preserving solutions (such as transforaminal and interlaminar endoscopy) that minimize muscle damage, reduce post-operative pain, and accelerate patient recovery compared to traditional open spine surgery.

Advanced Endoscopic Procedures:
- Perform full-endoscopic spinal procedures including Transforaminal and Interlaminar Endoscopic Discectomy for lumbar/cervical disc herniations
- Perform Endoscopic Decompression / Foraminoplasty for spinal canal and lateral recess stenosis
- Utilize specialized endoscopic equipment, radiofrequency triggers, and high-speed burrs safely under continuous fluid irrigation and fluoroscopic guidance
-
Complex & Combined Spine Care:
- Manage multi-level degenerative spine disease, spondylolisthesis, and spinal trauma
- Perform minimally invasive spinal fusions (e.g., Endoscopic TLIF) or traditional open spine surgery when clinically indicated by the candidate's core specialty framework
- Post-Operative Care & Rehab: Oversee immediate post-operative recovery, ensure appropriate pain management protocols, and coordinate closely with physical therapy teams for early mobilization
- Multidisciplinary Alignment: Collaborate with Neurologists, Rheumatologists, Pain Management Specialists, and Physiotherapists to deliver comprehensive, non-operative and operative spine care
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Core Education:
- M.Ch / DNB in Neurosurgery OR MS / DNB in Orthopedics from an accredited institution

- Typically requires 2 to 5+ years of dedicated post-PG experience in a high-volume spine center
- Licensure: Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / Medical Council of India (MCI) or relevant State Medical Council
