Job Title: Lead Accountant

Location: Vadodara / Pune

We are seeking a highly accomplished, detail-oriented, and driven Lead Accountant to lead and strengthen our accounting operations. This role demands a professional with strong technical expertise, exceptional analytical ability, and a proactive mindset to manage complex accounting processes across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate ownership, intellectual rigor, and a commitment to excellence while ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Lead end-to-end accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Intercompany accounting.

  • Manage and maintain Fixed Assets Register, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Oversee accounting for prepaid expenses, advances to vendors, and ensure accurate amortization and tracking.

  • Drive timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

  • Perform and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.

  • Handle foreign exchange accounting, including revaluation and gain/loss recognition.

  • Manage multi-entity accounting, ensuring consistency and accuracy across entities.

  • Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliation, including cost-plus entity structures.

  • Prepare audit schedules needed for Internal and statutory audit.

Compliance & Regulatory Management

  • Manage TDS computation, payments, and return filings.

  • Oversee GST reconciliations (GSTR-1, GSTR-2B, GSTR-3B) with Electronic Credit Ledger and Books GL.

  • Ensure timely execution of all statutory payments and filings.

  • Support income tax assessments and notices, working closely with the tax team.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure audit readiness at all times.

  • Ensure full compliance with IND AS / IFRS / GAAP (as applicable).

Treasury & Banking Operations

  • Manage banking operations, including vendor payments and online transactions.

  • Maintain strong control over banking processes and compliance.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Review and validate purchase requisitions (PRs) and ensure appropriate approvals.

  • Maintain effective vendor communication to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.

  • Track and monitor vendor advances and settlements.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and automation.

  • Partner with IT teams to drive process automation initiatives and BOT development.

  • Support ERP enhancements, and system integrations.

  • Continuously enhance internal controls and reporting efficiency.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Tax, HR, Procurement, and Operations.

  • Act as a key finance partner in business decision-making and process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CA / CPA / ACCA (preferred).

  • 5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity or multinational environments.

  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and reconciliations.

  • Experience working with ERP systems (Workday, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial tools.
