Application Tester and Support Engineer - India
Position: Application Tester and Support Engineer
Location: India, Pune
Reporting To: Line Manager
Context and Purpose of the Job
RioMed is a leading clinical software company based in the UK. Our core business function is developing and delivering clinical applications. We provide customised solutions to meet the specific requirements of healthcare professionals. Our mission is to improve healthcare at the point of delivery through patient participation and real time data capture. RioMed has been delivering clinical solutions nationally and internationally since 1997, in a variety of communicable and non-communicable disease areas including, HIV, sexually transmitted disease, Osteoporosis, Elderly Care, Rheumatology, Cardiology and Diabetes.
The overall purpose of the job is to provide enterprise-level assistance to our client. You will diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems and help our customers install applications and programs.
Application Tester & Support Engineer responsibilities include resolving configuring operating systems and using remote desktop connections to provide immediate support. You will use email and chat applications to give clients quick answers to simple IT issues. For more complex problems that require nuanced instruction, you will contact clients via phone and/or provide clear, written instructions and technical manuals.
To be qualified for this role, you should hold a degree in a relevant field, like Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering. If you’re naturally a helper, enjoy assisting people with computer issues and are able to explain technical details simply, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you will be a person our customer’s trust. They will rely on you to provide timely and accurate solutions to their technical problems.
Main Responsibilities
- Support project delivery by completing tasks assigned by the Reporting Manager and Project Manager.
- Prepare and conduct Cellma product demonstrations for clients, both remotely and on-site.
- Participate in client meetings and provide functional expertise during demonstrations and discussions.
- Perform system configuration activities based on approved business and project requirements.
- Ensure configuration consistency across development, test, and live environments.
- Assist with upgrade planning, patch deployments, and release management activities.
- Create and maintain UAT documents, user guides, workflow documentation, and project records.
- Conduct functional, workflow, and user acceptance testing to ensure solution quality.
- Identify, document, and track defects, CRFs, and system issues through the ticketing process.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Development Teams, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver project objectives.
- Support client training sessions, go-live activities, and post-implementation assistance.
- Participate in requirement-gathering sessions and ensure documentation receives appropriate approvals and sign-offs.
- Provide ongoing project support, risk escalation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful project delivery. Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
- Prepare accurate and timely reports
- Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
- Maintain jovial relationships with clients

Essential
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software (eg. LogMeIn or Join me)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
- Strong written & Verbal communication.
Desirable
- Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer or IT Help Desk Technician or similar role will be an added advantage
- BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
- Additional certification in Microsoft, MYSQL or Testing technologies is a plus
