Assistant Manager – Supply Chain

Job Description

We are seeking a high-impact Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Operations with strong expertise in global Order-to-Cash (O2C) execution, problem-solving, and process transformation. This role is designed for a supply chain professional who goes beyond transactional execution to actively diagnose, own, and resolve complex supply chain challenges across global operations.

The ideal candidate combines deep order management expertise, strong analytical thinking, and a transformation mindset to drive decision-making, improve operational performance, and build scalable, standardised processes across regions.

Core Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Order Management Ownership & Problem Solving

  • Own end-to-end order lifecycle across global markets, including order creation, validation, fulfilment, billing, and closure
  • Act as the primary problem owner for complex order management issues spanning availability constraints, pricing discrepancies, delivery delays, and system blocks
  • Diagnose and resolve high-impact issues through structured root cause analysis (RCA) and cross-functional collaboration
  • Drive decision-making on prioritisation, backorders, allocation, and fulfilment trade-offs, balancing service, cost, inventory, and cash flow
  • Manage and resolve critical customer and business escalations with speed, ownership, and business context

2. Global Stakeholder Collaboration & Execution Governance

  • Partner with global supply chain, planning, logistics, IT, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of O2C processes
  • Act as a single point of coordination for cross-region issue resolution, ensuring structured communication and timely closure
  • Drive alignment on execution priorities, service levels, and fulfilment strategies across geographies
  • Work across time zones and cultures with strong ownership, clarity, and influencing skills

3. Advanced Analytics & Insight-Led Decision Making

  • Analyse supply chain data (SAP, Power BI, Excel) to identify fulfilment risks, performance gaps, and process inefficiencies
  • Perform deep-dive RCA on service failures (OTIF misses, billing errors, cycle time delays, EDI failures)
  • Translate data into actionable insights and drive decision-making to improve operational outcomes
  • Move beyond reporting to enable predictive and proactive risk identification

4. End-to-End O2C Process Excellence & System Thinking

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Order-to-Cash processes, including:
    • Order management
    • Pricing & availability
    • Delivery & logistics alignment
    • Billing & invoice accuracy
    • Credit and financial impact linkage
  • Identify gaps in process design and system configuration impacting execution outcomes
  • Partner with IT and digital teams to improve SAP SD / EDI workflows, system integrations, and automation capabilities
  • Contribute to SAP S/4HANA or process standardisation initiatives (where applicable)

5. Continuous Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify systemic inefficiencies and lead process improvement and transformation initiatives
  • Drive standardisation of processes across regions to enable scalability and consistency
  • Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve control (workflow, reporting, transaction processing)
  • Support deployment of best practices across global supply chain operations

6. Operational Performance & KPI Ownership

  • Own and drive key performance metrics such as:
    • OTIF / service levels
    • Order cycle time
    • Order accuracy / error rates
    • EDI success rates
    • Cost and productivity metrics
  • Establish governance mechanisms, controls, and operating rhythms to sustain performance
  • Proactively identify risks, track escalations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Experience & Skills

Must-Have

  • 7–10 years of experience in Order Management / Supply Chain Operations / O2C with global exposure
  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) and order lifecycle execution
  • Proven experience in problem-solving, stakeholder management, and process improvement
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Power BI / Excel / data-driven decision-making
  • Deep understanding of supply chain execution concepts (order fulfilment, logistics, inventory, service levels)
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and drive decisions in complex, fast-paced environments

Good to Have

  • Experience with EDI processes and system integrations
  • Exposure to automation tools (Power Automate, Winshuttle, etc.)
  • Experience with global process standardisation or transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of S/4HANA or digital supply chain transformation programs
