Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
    • Evaluate patients' medical histories and symptoms.
    • Conduct physical and diagnostic tests to diagnose neurological disorders.
    • Order and interpret neuroimaging studies such as MRIs and CT scans.
  • Surgical Procedures:
    • Perform intricate surgeries on the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.
    • Use surgical techniques to treat conditions such as tumors, vascular disorders, trauma, and degenerative diseases.
    • Operate robotic mechanisms for non-invasive procedures.
  • Post-Operative Care:
    • Monitor patient recovery and healing post-surgery.
    • Prescribe medications for pain management and other post-operative needs.
    • Conduct follow-up appointments to assess patient progress.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work with other healthcare professionals, including neurologists, therapists, and nurses, to provide comprehensive patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about surgical procedures, potential risks, and outcomes.
    • Keep detailed records of patients' diagnoses, treatments, and medical histories.
  • Research and Continuing Education:
    • Stay informed about advancements in neurosurgery and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
    • Conduct research to advance the understanding and treatment of neurological disorders.
Skills And Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Medical degree (M.Ch or DrNB with 5 yrs of experience post degre).
    • Completion of a neurosurgery residency program.
