The successful candidate will be part of an international Digital Engineering and Design team, supporting BIM-led design and immersive visualization (VR) for engineering projects at the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, diversity, and collaboration. The role focuses on integrating design data, ensuring coordination across disciplines, and supporting digital engineering transformation through BIM methodologies.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- The successful candidate will be part of an international Digital Engineering and Design team, supporting BIM-led design and immersive visualization (VR) for engineering projects.
- Develop and maintain BIM models (LOD 200–LOD 350) for transformer / data center / infrastructure projects.
- Convert engineering outputs (CAD / Creo / design tools) into data-rich BIM models (geometry + metadata).
- Integrate BIM models with VR platforms (e.g., Unity / Unreal / immersive viewers) for visualization and validation.
- Support VR-based design reviews, enabling immersive walkthroughs for:
- Layout validation
- Clearance and accessibility checks
- Customer presentations
- Prepare models for VR visualization (model simplification, optimization, export workflows such as FBX / IFC).
- Participate in tender-stage BIM + VR deliverables for customer visualization and early decision-making.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Control, Factory Engineering) to ensure aligned design representation in BIM and VR environments.
- Manage BIM models within Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms and ensure proper review workflow compliance.
- Support design reviews, issue resolution, and model validation cycles.
- Contribute to digital engineering initiatives, including:
- BIM-to-VR integration workflows
- Automation and reuse of models
- Visualization standards
- Collaborate with global engineering and factory teams to ensure design manufacturability and readiness.
- Participate in training and knowledge-sharing sessions for BIM and VR adoption.
- B.E / B. Tech Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.
- 4 to 8 years of experience working in Experience in power, energy or infrastructure projects preferred
- Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
- BIM tools / CDE platforms.
- VR/visualization engine tools.
- 3D modeling and visualization workflows
- BIM methodology and lifecycle
- LOD 300/500.
- Unity / Unreal Engine (preferred)
- VR/AR visualization platforms
- 3D model optimization and conversion (FBX, IFC formats)
- Exposure to CDE tools (ACC / BIM 360 / Forma)
- Basic understanding of:
- ISO 19650 workflows
- BIM + data integration
- Knowledge of:
- Model coordination / clash analysis
- Engineering data and visualization pipelines
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to work across global, cross-functional teams
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Visualization mindset (ability to interpret engineering models in spatial context)
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
