- You'll be responsible for Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
- You'll be responsible for Developing and implementing subcontracting strategies aligned with overall business objectives and project requirements.
- You'll be accountable for Identifying, evaluating, and qualifying new subcontractors, ensuring they meet technical, quality, financial, and ethical standards.
- You'll be responsible for Maintaining strong relationships with existing subcontractors, fostering long-term partnerships, conducting regular performance reviews of subcontractors and implementing improvement plans.
- You’ll work on Contract Negotiation & Management
- You’ll work on Cost Control & Optimization
- You'll be responsible for Team Leadership & Development by Leading and mentoring a team of subcontracting professionals. Developing best practices and standard operating procedures for subcontracting
- You'll collect required procurement details from Engineering Team, Production Supervisors, and Packaging team for ordering purposes.
- You’ve to control inventory at Supplier end.
- You’ve to work on SAP and other systems.
- You are a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (B.E. / B.Tech)
- You've 8-9 years’ experience in Subcontracting, switchgear production industry.
- You’ve basic knowledge of commercial concepts of business and good working knowledge of MS Office.
- You’ve strong written and verbal communication skills.
To excel in this role, a Subcontracting Head needs a blend of technical, commercial, and interpersonal skills: Technical Acumen:
- Deep understanding of switchgear products and systems: This is critical for evaluating subcontractor capabilities and technical proposals. Knowledge of components, manufacturing processes, testing, and installation is key.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations: (e.g., IEC, ANSI, local electrical codes).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Commercial & Financial Aspects:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills: Proven ability to secure advantageous terms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities: For cost analysis, risk assessment, and performance evaluation.
- Financial literacy: Understanding budgeting, cost control, and financial impact of subcontracting decisions.
