Job Title- Relationship Manager

Reporting To- Team Leader - Government Banking

Location-Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar

Purpose of the role-

The primary purpose of the Relationship Manager is to strengthen and manage banking relationships with Central and State Government departments, as well as administered institutions under their purview. Working under the guidance of the Team Leader, the role is responsible for identifying opportunities, understanding requirements, and delivering tailored banking solutions. The position serves as the on-ground interface with multiple layers of government establishments, ensuring seamless engagement, solution delivery, and long-term relationship building.

Core Responsibilities

  • Acquiring new clients & managing a portfolio of Government clients (PSUs and All Administered Institutions of Govt of India and State Governments)
  • Ensure a strong relationship with existing accounts.
  • Focus on offering financial solutions & cross selling.
  • Actively and consistently seek an opportunity to expand share of wallet of the customer base
  • Build knowledge of all the products being offered to customers.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with operations in order to ensure smooth delivery of transactions
  • Implement marketing plans.
  • Assist the Relationship Management Group in research and analysis on industries/clients/markets
  • Prepare credit approval/renewal memorandum, generate risk analysis reports on the client portfolio
  • Articulation of customer requirements to the product teams and work closely for product development to ensure customer needs are met
  • Co-ordinate with financial markets, investment banking and retail banking teams to ensure synergies in cross selling products to government/PSU customers
  • Responsible for management/recovery/NPAs for this cluster of customers
  • Determining the skills and manning levels required for effective delivery of services

SECTION VI: ROLE PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

Education

Essential: CA/MBA from a reputed institute

Experience

Essential: 4-8 years of banking experience of which at least 2-3 years should be in Government Banking in client account management in a leadership position
