Field Quality Manager

- Define mandatory quality gates and checkpoints that channel partners must follow
- Conduct partner onboarding quality training
- Perform regular field quality audits and surprise site visits
- Manage third-party inspection agencies (TPIs) deployment
- Handle non-conformance management
- Oversee the warranty certificate issuance process:
- Verify completion of all quality inspections, commissioning tests, punch-list closures, and documentation
- Authorize and issue company-issued warranty certificates to end-customers upon confirmed compliance.
- Ensure digital/QR-coded certificates (where applicable) are generated, registered (e.g., in national portals or internal systems), and shared with customers, partners, and relevant authorities for subsidy claims or discom approvals.
- Maintain records of issued certificates, linked to serial numbers, installation details, and partner accountability for future claims handling.
- Monitor and analyze quality KPIs across the channel network
- Drive partner performance reviews
- Ensure compliance with:
- MNRE / PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana quality & empanelment norms
- BIS/IEC standards for components and installations
- CEA / state discom grid-interconnection & safety requirements
- Company performance guarantee / warranty terms
- Support pre-dispatch inspections (PDI) at vendor/warehouse level and random material audits at partner warehouses.
- Interface with key stakeholders
- Provide field quality insights and defect trend data to product, procurement, and R&D teams
- Lead digital quality transformation
- Contribute to partner ecosystem development
- Experience: 8–10 years in quality roles, with minimum 4–6 years in solar PV — preferably in channel partner / dealer / distributor models for distributed/rooftop solar (residential + C&I). Direct EPC experience is acceptable but channel oversight experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing quality in decentralized, partner-executed solar projects across multiple Indian states, including involvement in warranty/commissioning certification processes.
- Experience in auditing/monitoring third-party installers/channel partners without direct control, and in final quality sign-off for warranty issuance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause investigation skills.
- Proficiency in quality tools (Pareto, Fishbone, FMEA), MS Office, ERP/QMS/digital inspection platforms, and warranty management systems.
- High travel willingness (60–80% field time across states).
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills to enforce standards with independent channel partners.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume distributed business with variable partner capabilities.
