JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer / Project Engineer to support product design, engineering standardization, and project execution. The role is responsible for preparing engineering calculations, developing 3D models, validating new products, supporting manufacturing, and ensuring designs comply with customer requirements and applicable API standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and overall engineering delivery.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic engineering environment with exposure to advanced product development, CAD design, product lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering calculations using standard engineering principles and methodologies.
- Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and prototypes using Creo or similar CAD software.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering documentation, and technical records.
- Review customer specifications and translate requirements into practical, manufacturable design solutions.
- Support product standardization in line with customer requirements and applicable API standards.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and support ECN, NCR, and CPAR activities.
- Develop operation sequence drawings and maintain complete product documentation.
- Support new product development, design validation, and prototype testing activities.
- Assess designs for manufacturability, cost, performance, and quality improvements.
- Participate in design reviews and recommend product and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and global teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Stay updated with emerging engineering technologies, including AI-driven design methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Creo for 3D CAD modeling and design.
- Working knowledge of Windchill PLM or similar Product Lifecycle Management systems.
- Experience in engineering calculations, technical drawings, and documentation.
- Knowledge of ECN, NCR, CPAR, and manufacturing support processes.
- Experience with BOM creation, design validation, and product development.
- Understanding of API standards, preferably API 19LH.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools for product design is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Design Engineer or Project Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with CAD design, engineering documentation, and product lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting manufacturing and engineering change processes.
- Exposure to new product development, prototype validation, and engineering standardization.
- Ability to work effectively with global teams across multiple time zones.
