About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Scribe (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on clinical documentation, medical transcription, healthcare communication, electronic health records (EHR), and medical documentation accuracy.
In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated outputs related to patient encounters, discharge summaries, prescriptions, clinical notes, lab reports, consent forms, referral letters, and healthcare documentation. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for clinical documentation, medical reasoning, healthcare communication, and physician workflow automation.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in medical scribing, medical transcription, clinical documentation, healthcare operations, or hospital administration.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing real-world clinical documentation and medical scribing scenarios.
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated medical documentation, clinical notes, discharge summaries, and patient communication.
- Assess AI outputs for clinical accuracy, documentation quality, medical terminology, and completeness.
- Draft, review, and validate physician notes, history and physical (H&P) documentation, SOAP notes, progress notes, operative notes, discharge summaries, referral letters, and consultation reports.
- Interpret and review discharge summaries, prescriptions, laboratory reports, diagnostic findings, appointment instructions, care plans, and consent forms for clinical accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluate AI-generated patient instructions and educational materials for clarity, accuracy, and patient-friendly communication.
- Review healthcare documentation for consistency with clinical guidelines, medical terminology, and documentation standards.
- Identify documentation errors, missing clinical details, terminology inconsistencies, and formatting issues in AI-generated outputs.
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in clinical documentation and healthcare workflows.
- Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Biotechnology, Physiotherapy, or a related healthcare discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in medical scribing, medical transcription, clinical documentation, hospital operations, or healthcare documentation.
- Drafting and interpreting discharge summaries, prescriptions, laboratory reports, diagnostic reports, and clinical documentation.
- Preparing and reviewing appointment instructions, care plans, follow-up documentation, and consent forms.
- Documenting physician-patient encounters accurately using standard clinical documentation formats (SOAP, H&P, Progress Notes, etc.).
- Applying medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and disease knowledge while reviewing documentation.
- Explaining healthcare instructions clearly to patients in Hindi and/or regional Indian languages, where applicable.
- Working with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems and maintaining documentation quality standards.
- Familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS), EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar systems is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written English communication skills.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated medical documentation for clinical accuracy, completeness, and patient safety.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with hospitals, clinics, healthcare BPOs, medical transcription companies, physician practices, or telemedicine providers.
- Certification in Medical Scribing, Medical Transcription, or Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) is preferred.
- Experience across specialties such as Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, or General Practice.
- Familiarity with healthcare documentation standards, ICD/CPT coding concepts, HIPAA or healthcare data privacy principles.
- Experience using AI-assisted healthcare documentation or speech recognition tools.
- Experience supporting physicians in live or asynchronous documentation workflows.
